Editorial Policy
MyGpsTools publishes practical guides, troubleshooting articles, comparisons, and tools about GPS, maps, navigation apps, EXIF metadata, CarPlay, Android Auto, and location-based technology. This page explains how we create, review, update, and correct our content.
What We Publish
We focus on topics where users need clear, practical help with location and navigation technology. This includes GPS coordinates, photo metadata, geotagging, Google Maps, Waze, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS trackers, satellite imagery, printable maps, and mobile troubleshooting.
How We Research Topics
Before creating or updating a guide, we try to understand the search intent behind the topic. A troubleshooting article should help the reader fix a problem. A comparison should make differences clear. A tool page should explain how the tool works and what its limitations are.
Depending on the topic, we may use:
- official app, platform, or device documentation;
- hands-on checks in browsers, apps, and mobile settings;
- screenshots, examples, tables, and workflows;
- search data from Google Search Console, Bing, and SEO tools;
- reader feedback and common user-reported issues.
How We Review and Update Content
GPS, maps, mobile apps, car infotainment systems, and photo metadata tools change frequently. We update important pages when we find that app settings, supported features, interface labels, or availability information have changed.
When a page is significantly updated, we may refresh its visible update date, screenshots, examples, tables, or FAQ section. Minor typo fixes do not always mean that the article has been substantially reviewed.
Use of AI Assistance
We may use AI tools to help with outlines, rewriting drafts, organizing research, checking clarity, and identifying missing sections. AI tools do not replace editorial judgment.
We aim to avoid unsupported claims, invented testing, fake personal experience, or statements that cannot be checked against available sources, screenshots, product behavior, or direct observation.
Corrections
If you find an outdated instruction, broken link, incorrect app setting, or unclear explanation, please contact us. We review corrections and update pages when the issue can be verified.
You can reach us through the contact page.
Advertising and Partnerships
If a page includes advertising, sponsorship, affiliate links, or a partnership mention, we aim to keep that separate from the editorial explanation. Commercial relationships should not change whether a troubleshooting step, comparison, or technical explanation is useful to the reader.
